ABOUT

A Historic Packing House

Built in 1916 by The Pomona Valley Canning Company, the Pomona Packing Plant was originally a packing house that processed and canned stone fruits, particularly yellow peaches.

Restored by Arteco Partners

In 2013, Arteco Partners, a restoration and redevelopment firm focusing on historic buildings, renovated the Pomona Packing Plant into industrial art lofts, perfect for the artists and entrepreneurs of the creative economy.

Industrial Art Lofts

Today, the Packing Plant houses 21 industrial art lofts, spanning two square blocks and making this beautiful showcase of historical architecture the largest arts complex in the Pomona Arts Colony.

HISTORY

The Pomona Packing Plant has a rich history, beginning in 1916 with The Pomona Valley Canning Company, when it was a state-of-the-art cannery dedicated to processing and canning peaches. It even had its own railroad stop. The cannery later recast itself as the “Pomona Packing Company” and diversified into processing orange and lemons.
